Ceiling and Fireplace in Oxfordshire Study

A ceiling and fireplace surround for a residential project by Kate Guinness Design. Inspired by Giotto’s Peruzzi Altarpiece, the Starry ceiling of the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, Fra Angelico’s Prado Annunciation altarpiece. The stars are gilded in 23 carat gold leaf so that they catch the flicker of the fire at night and the changing sun light during the day.
