Artist Anna Neima. A woman with short brown hair and blue eyes sitting outdoors on rocks, wearing a floral dress and jewelry, with sunlight casting shadows on her face.

Hello!

I’m Anna, an artist-illustrator and historian living between London and Devon with my husband and young son and daughter.

I've always created art. I love observing and capturing the tenderness of domestic life, often taking inspiration from my children. And I am drawn to the beauty of the natural world, cosiness, nostalgia, dreams of a slower, rural life away from London. My family farms in South Devon and I return there for all holidays and I hope to get back there full-time some day...

I have a PhD in History from Cambridge and alongside my art I have written two books, ‘The Utopians: Six Attempts to Build a Perfect Society’ and ‘Practical Utopia: The Many Lives of Dartington Hall’. I am currently working on a new book about twentieth-century British home-making, told through the lives of writers and artists (contracted to Sceptre / Hodder & Stoughton).

Please get in touch if you have any questions or special requests, or are interested in wholesale or commissioning a painting or mural.

I am on Instagram at @annaneima. You can sign up to my free monthly newsletter below for stories of the lives of writers and artists I am researching and updates on my art.
